The Mission: I provide low-stress, realistic training for dogs and their humans. Whether you’ve just adopted a "diamond in the rough" from a shelter or you're looking to polish your puppy’s manners, I focus on building a relationship based on clear communication and mutual trust.
From "Shut Down" to Confident: Three years ago, I adopted a border collie rescue who was completely shut down. She wouldn't walk, wasn't house-trained, and was terrified of the world. Today, while she remains a shy soul, she has blossomed into a confident, happy companion. This personal journey taught me that progress isn't a straight line—it’s about patience, small wins, and understanding the dog in front of you.
Experience & Background
400+ Hours at BACS: As a volunteer at Berkeley Animal Care Services, I specialize in "behaviorally challenging" dogs. I work a lot with large breeds, mouthy or jumpy behaviors, and leash reactivity.
Service Dog Puppy Raiser: I am currently raising and training a service dog prospect, focusing on precision tasks, public access manners, and high-level engagement.
Education: I am trained in Fear-Free methods (learning from experts like Kelly Bollen and Sara Scott), though I utilize LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) principles to find the "balance" that works best for each individual dog's success.
Note: I am currently offering student-rate introductory pricing as I build my professional portfolio.
Virtual Strategy Call
$30 | 45-Minute Video or Phone Call Perfect for new adopters or puppy owners who need immediate advice on:
Crate training and house-breaking.
The "3-3-3 Rule" (Decompressing a new shelter dog).
Setting up your home for a new arrival.
In-Person Training Session
$50 | 45-Minute Session (Berkeley/SF/Bay Area) One-on-one coaching at your home or a local park. We can work on:
Loose Leash Walking: Stopping the "pulling" and making walks enjoyable.
Foundational Manners: Sit, Stay, Down, and Recall (Coming when called).
Confidence Building: Specialized support for shy or fearful dogs.
Neutrality: Helping jumpy or "mouthy" dogs learn to settle and focus.
I believe in ending on a high note. Most dogs (especially puppies and rescues) have a "mental battery" that lasts about 40 minutes. By keeping sessions focused and efficient, we ensure your dog stays motivated and excited for the next lesson rather than becoming overstimulated.
